To perfectly and automatically insert recessed spotlights in a false ceiling, first insert the spotlights you find in the “Elements archive” or in the “Fast elements archive” as shown in the example below (fig.1)

It is possible to find different types of spotlights in the folder > Shared Accessories > Design items > Lamps and Pendants > Neon Spotlights and blocks (fig. 2). Select the type of spotlight you like and insert it at the height of the false ceiling in elevation view. It is possible to create a false ceiling using a box or the command “Manually drawn element” (please read the related article here).

From the visualization in plan view move the spotlight to the desired position using the command “Move element” 
that you can find on the left-side command bar (fig.3).

If you would like to insert more spotlights select the command “Copy Element” 
and then the spotlight that will become green. Select a hooking point of the spotlight with a click and activate the command “Orthogonal mode” 
. Then type the distance between the spotlight inserted and the one you would like to copy using the keyboard. The window “Copy” will appear with which you can create multiple copies of the same element. So type the distance between the spotlights and the number of copies you need (fig. 4).

Repeat the operations for the other side of the false ceiling too, if needed. Once you have positioned all the spotlights you can select both false ceiling and spotlights. Then click on the command “Generic Macros” on the left-side command bar (fig. 5) and on the item “Various Macros” (fig. 6).

Select the option “Cut for Spotlights and filling objects” (fig. 7) and wait for the end of the process (fig. 8).

As result (fig. 9) the false ceiling will be perfectly drilled and the spotlights recessed and visible. It is possible to use the command both with the spotlights contained in ArredoCAD and the spotlights of our partners that provide this type of objects.
