The ceiling can be inserted using different methods.
You can find the most frequently used method in the menu bar by cliking on Options and then on Ceiling areas. A drop-down menu will appear with a list of choices (fig. 1).

(fig. 1)
With the command “Create ceiling from polygon out of area” (fig. 2) you can automatically insert one polygon covering all rooms that are closed by walls on every side regardless of whether the floor has been inserted or not (fig. 2.1).

(fig. 2.1)
With the second command “Create a ceiling for every area” (fig. 3) you can automatically insert a polygon for each room closed by walls on all sides. Please note that the external part has no ceiling because it is not a room closed by walls on all sides (fig. 3.1).

(fig. 3.1)
The other commands in the drop-down menu allow to hide, show and delete a ceiling after insertion.
This kind of ceiling are 3D objects and therefore they can be visualized and selected both in the 2D plan view and in the 3D window. They can also be modified according to measures and textures (3.2) using the command Element properties .

(fig. 3.2)
Alternatively, it is possible to visualize the ceiling only when it comes to rendering to obtain a more realistic scene and to avoid light coming from outside that can change the final result of the rendering created by D-RAY or D-LUX. In this case the ceiling will be inserted automatically covering all internal and external surfaces with a floor regardless of whether a room is closed on all sides or not. This kind of ceiling cannot be visualized in the 2D/3D window, selected or changed as if it was an object.
To activate this option click on RENDER in the toolbar at the top right (fig. 4).

(fig. 4)
In the next window (fig. 5) click on Render setup at the bottom left corner. Then in the window “RENDERING OPTIONS”(fig. 6) select Visualize under CEILING.
